My day

The sizzling boiling sand burnt my feet.

 

I ran, all of a sudden my feet went from burning hot to freezing cold. I couldn’t win either way, I looked up and saw silky grass I had to make it, I ran and ran and RAN and finally I was on the grass not to cold and defiantly not too hot.

 

Sun cream was squirted on my legs, arms and face, I rubbed it in, I was actually ready to go into the water. Here I go again I had to run right to the water, 3 2 1 go! I ran yay! I got to the water, it was so cold but I was strong enough to last it.

 

I saw thousands of tiny fish swim past my icy legs.

 

My friend and her sister kept diving in to catch the fish, I got lower and lower but I just couldn’t bare the cold.

 

My friend’s sister splashed me so much that I had to jump in; as soon as I went under I jumped up out of the water as fast as a flying fish.

 

After that it soon got quite warm in the water and I started to get used to it.

 

I got thrown in the air and landed in the glistening water, it was enjoyable.

 

 

 

Survey questions for Frankley schools gala

In room 10 we have done some survey questions.

A survey is a few questions that people have to answer, they are given a few choices to select.
The main reason why people usually make surveys is because they want to collect as much information as they can from the people that are filling your survey out.

Room 10 are creating products for the Frankley school gala.
We are making surveys to find out if people like what our ideas are, and trying to collect lots of information.
Once we have collected all the information we will see their likes and their dislikes, then we will be able to choose the product that is suitable for what the people have chosen the most. If most people have more dislikes to both the choices to likes then we will have to make a decision that everyone would like and compare them our choices.

Most people choose to be creative with their product, if you choose to go down the same path as them then you are doing the correct thing, if people weren't creative with making their own product then what's the point? Then everyone's product would be the same. 

Room 10 are going down the right path, because we are being CREATIVE!

Maths problem.

In our maths group we have been working on our time tables. This is one that you should try to figure out useing the steps that we do: 67x5= so what you have to do is: 6x5=30 so all you have to do is add the 0 to the 6 to make it 60 and a 0 to the answer so it ends up like this: 60x5=300 Then you do: 7x5=35 So then its 300+35=335 easy right?

Dance comp :)

Next week on Thursday, I have a dance competition down at Hawera.

Mum Gillian and I, have decided to go down to Hawera on Wednesday and stay at a motel.
We are doing that because mum told me that we have to be there at the dance comps at 9:00 o'clock in the morning.

I have to get all my make up on, mum has to do my hair, I have to get changed and lots more things.

Mum worked out that we would have to get up at 4:00 o'clock in the morning to go!!!
NO WAY! That is way to early for us.
So thats why we are going on Wednesday night to the motel in Hawera.
Its going to be sooooo fun, we are going to have a girly night, and will be really relaxed, that might help for my competition.

Dancing

On Friday the 6th of September we had assembly. At assembly Ashlee,
Siobhan and Courtney did a dance for assembly for everyone to watch.
It was a cross between Gymnastics, Highland dancing and Jazz.
We did that because we all do different sort of activities, Ashlee does Gymnastics,
Siobhan does Highland dancing and Courtney (me) does Jazz.
The dance took us about 2 weeks to prepare, then we got asked if we were ready to
do our dance in assembly, of course we said because we are confident and knew that
we could do it.   

Kyphosis

Kyphosis also known as roundback or Kelso's hunchback is a condition that people get when they keep thier neck faceing down to much, for example, laptops you have to keep your neck down to see what you are doing. The spine has a series of normal curves when viewed from the side. The condition is serious if you have to many hours having your head down, you will slowly start to curve and then at the serious point you end up with a hunchback.

Putorino

The putorino or bulge-flute is a musical instrument that the maori used to use, also it has a beautiful sound. It has a small opening at the end of both ends for the music to flow out. We learnt a bit of information and facts that we would like to share. Here are some of the facts.

The instrument is made from wood. Some putorinos have a beautiful tiki carved by the end you blow into. The putorino has a beautiful voice representing the female ancestor Hineraukatauri. It's sound has been described as the sound of water being poured from a gourd.

At the start of the holidays, Kia came round my house to pick me up for a sleepover, I didn't know how much days I was staying, so I asked. She said she was wondering if I would like to stay for 2 WHOLE WEEKS! Wow that would be great I thought, but what about my family? I thought about it for a while and then I said "that would be great but maybe instead of coming home Saturday can I come home on Thursday, so my family can still have me for part of the holidays?" I asked. She said of course and understood.
