This is the first draft of Poppy's writing using the 'recipe' from James K Baxter's poem. She worked hard to create her own ideas and really bring that moment into the reader's mind. Jackson also helped with ideas and by discussing.....this led to a fantastic edit. I am so proud of Poppy's growing writing skills. What do you think?
Mrs Cameron’s
farewell was usual enough; It had a big lot of people smiling, children
watching the pinky glittery costumes shining over to the back of the adince. A dance
I never did. My heart was pounding when it was my tern to be in the front. But
I was nervous. I had a blast of a time. But
to Be onist I can not pictcher mrs Cameron in a polka dot abiceny.
Doing nothing
important.
Mrs Cameron’s
farewell was usual enough; It had a lot of people smiling, children watching,
pinky, glittery costumes shining over the back of the audience, and a dance I had
never done before. A kind-hearted speech that I didn’t have to attempt. Heart
pounding, my turn in the front, nervous. Mrs Cameron’s joy-filled-happy-tears
racing cross-country down her face.
Doing
nothing important at all.
Well, just fantastic Poppy - I hope your Mum and dad leave a comment!!
